FACILITIES — Damiansville Grade School (K - 8), currently in a rental agreement with St. Damian’s Parish.
SIZE — 50 square miles, 100 students, 11 certified (9 FT, 2 PT), 8 non-certified.
OFFICE — The administration office is located at 101 East Main Street, Damiansville, Illinois.
OFFICE PERSONNEL — Superintendent, Administrative Assistant, Office Assistant.
CURRICULUM — The district provides a basic, comprehensive curriculum for grades K- 8. A preschool “at-risk” program is provided. Resource support for special education classes is provided in-district and out-of-district.
EXTRA CURRICULAR – PTO, Scholar Bowl, Boys Basketball, Girls Volleyball, Cheerleading,
Track.
FOOD SERVICE PROGRAM — The kitchen is located in the elementary school, feeding all students in an all-purpose room. The district prepares all meals and serves approximately 100 nutritious lunches daily.
TRANSPORTATION — The district operates its own transportation. Routes are run in the morning and afternoon
LOCATION — Damiansville District 62 is housed in Damiansville, IL, 35 miles east of St. Louis on Interstate 64. About 10 miles from Scott Air Force Base and Mid America Airport.
SERVICES AVAILABLE —Within the district are many small businesses, including a daycare. Damiansville shares a post office, fire department and ambulance service with Albers, IL. There are excellent hospital facilities in Breese, IL, just 15 miles NE.
CHURCHES —St. Damian Catholic parish is established in the district. All denominations can be found within 20-30 minutes.
FRATERNAL & PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATIONS — Chamber of Commerce, Ladies Sodality, Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Sons of the American Legion.
COLLEGES — McKendree University (15 miles), Southwestern Illinois College (20 miles), Kaskaskia College (30 miles), Greenville College (40 miles), Southern Illinois University (45 miles).
