Welcome to Damiansville School!
I would like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Mr. Mark Heuring and I am the new Superintendent of Damiansville Elementary School District #62. Each year as the beginning of school draws near, I get excited to see students and teachers return for a new school year.

I am a firm believer in small schools and the personal environment they provide for their students and families. This stems from my personal experiences in education. I graduated from 8th grade at Smithton Elementary and then attended Freeburg High School. I received undergraduate and graduate degrees from SWIC, McKendree, and Eastern Illinois University. I have served only 2 small districts during my professional career. I was a junior high school teacher and principal at Shiloh Elementary School, and a high school principal at Marissa Unit School District during the past 20 years.

I have to give thanks to my family because none of this would have been possible without the support of my wife and two wonderful children. My oldest daughter, Meredith, will begin high school this year, while my youngest daughter, Miller, will be starting 1st grade. I look forward to a wonderful school year and meeting the needs of our students and school district.

Sincerely,

Mr. H
